Build a Mill is a method for you to quote and or order, in real time, your special solid carbide end mills to your specific cutting tool requirements.
Build a Mill gives the customer the ability to quote on line, the price and delivery of any style (2,3,4, or 5, flute), any size (1/16 to 1”), to as tight a tolerance as +/-.0002, any helix from 0 to 60 degree, to any LOC within displayed specs, with any radius or chamfer to within the displayed specs, in any quantity, with any coating, in solid carbide.
Build a mill is most competitive in quoting non standard end mills. However, you will find that we are very competitive with many of the standard cutting tools that are not offered by Triple-T and that are offered by our competitors. This is especially true where larger cutters with quantities of greater that 3 pcs are required. End mills quoted on build a mill are manufactured to the exact specs for the given size required. Your end mill will have the proper helix angle, rake angle, core diameter, etc. for the given diameter requirement. Build a mill DOES NOT ALTER a standard end mill. Each tool is individually manufactured to the exact specifications you desire on the latest state of the art, 5 axis CNC grinders.
Helpful hints when quoting tools:
Quantity changes can make drastic differences in prices in the low quantity ranges.
All dimensional entries must be entered as decimals.
Shanks longer than required can be used for long reach applications.
Try to set your diameters and sizes so that they fall into a condition that we do not have to start with an oversize blank to make the tool. In other words, if you can, keep the required end mill diameter at least .0008 under a nominal shank diameter. Ex:
If you require a ½” dia tool that can be ground to less than .4992, specify a .4992 with the desired tolerance as opposed to .500 with a +/-.001 tolerance. The price difference if entered the two different ways is:
$50.96/ea for 6 cutters at .500 dia +/-.001 with a .020 C/R $36.68/ea for 6 cutters if you enter .4992 +/-.001 dia. with a .020 C/RIf you require a different shank than the choices allow for tools that are just over the nominal sizes, (ex: .501 allows only a 9/16” shank to be used) note it in the notes field that you would like to have a ½” shank. This will not effect the price as long as it is the next nominal shank size down from the end mill diameter required and the end mill diameter is no more than .002 over the nominal shank diameter. Ex:
If you require a .502 +/-.001 end mill, your choice will be to use a 9/16” shank and the price for 15 pcs at this diameter will be $34.78/ea. If you note in the notes field that you want to have a ½” shank, the price will be held at $34.78/ea. If you want a 7/16” shank, this will change the price and cannot be quoted with Build a Mill.
